Melodrama

Whilst flicking through a David Hockney book, an etching caught my eye… inside it was a shape, the more I looked, the more it invited me to explore.  Interestingly it was black and white, as Hockney's work is typically colourful.  So I started drawing.....its name manifested the moment I finished the sketch. The shape seemed to have its own personality: charming, bold, and a little dramatic.
This brooch carries the essence of that moment — a true download of inspiration. I hope you enjoy this slightly theatrical piece. For me, it’s a form that steps forward and becomes a tiny, wearable story of transformation and Joie de vivre!
